MUARA, Monday 22 January 2018 – The 4th Navy to Navy Talks between the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) was held at the Multi-National Coordination Centre (MNCC), Muara Naval base.
Captain Haji Othman bin Haji Suhaili @ Haji Sulhail, RBN, Deputy Commander of RBN delivered the welcoming remarks, where he highlighted the long-standing and close relations between both navies. He shared that the Naval Working Group platform has matured over the years and in 2017, it was agreed to rename it as the Navy to Navy Talks.
Commander Khairil bin Haji Abdul Rahman, RBN, Chief of Staff, RBN and Rear Admiral Datuk Khairul Anuar bin Yahya, RMN, Assistant Chief of Staff Operations and Exercises, RMN co-chaired the talks. Discussions focused on issues of mutual interest and opportunities to build capacity such as through exercises, courses and trainings.
The head of the RMN delegation, Rear Admiral Datuk Khairul Anuar bin Yahya, Assistant Chief of Staff Operations and Exercises, RMN HQ and Lieutenant Commander Farish bin Ahmad, RMN, Staff Officer 1 International Relations, RMN HQ also paid a courtesy call to First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi Bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad, Commander of RBN. During the courtesy call, both sides expressed satisfaction with their long standing bilateral ties and discussed opportunities to further strengthen cooperation between the two navies.
The 5th Navy to Navy Talks will be hosted by the RMN.
